Whole Body MRI

This scan will evaluate your body for cancers, diseases and other conditions.

The head and neck will be evaluated to look for any detectable cancers, aneurysms, and ischemic injury. The spine will be assessed for cord abnormalities, disc herniations, and degenerative changes.

The chest will be assessed for any masses greater than 1.5cm. Many vital organs in the abdomen and pelvis will be assessed for tumors as small as 1cm and other diseases. Organs imaged will include the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, urinary bladder, ovaries, uterus, and prostate. The shoulders, hips, and knees will also be assessed for obvious musculoskeletal conditions. The study will take 45-60 minutes to complete and no contrast administration is required.

Prostate MRI Screening

The screening prostate MRI scan is performed without contrast on a 3T MRI Scanner. Performing this study on a 3T MRI improves the sensitivity and accuracy of detecting prostate cancer. The scan time is around 30 minutes. Patients who have a history of prostate cancer or have had an inconclusive prostate biopsy do not qualify for this screening study.

Breast MRI Screening

Especially useful for women with dense breasts on mammogram.
Performed bilaterally with the use of intravenous contrast only on low risk patients.

Breast Implant MRI

MRI is great at evaluating the integrity of silicone breast implants and the fibrous capsule that forms around an implant. MRI will be able to tell the difference between intracapsular and extracapsular breast implant rupture. This study takes around 20 minutes and no contrast is required.

Coronary (Cardiac) CTA and Calcium Scoring

This study will determine if plaque buildup has narrowed your coronary arteries, important vessels that supply blood to your heart. Findings from the study may warrant life style changes and/or further treatment/testing. This study is performed on a CT scanner and requires the intravenous administration of an iodine-containing contrast. The study can take up to 30 minutes to complete.

Cardiac Calcium Scoring

This study is used for screening to detect coronary disease early before the onset of symptoms. This study requires no advanced preparation and no contrast agent is requires. The study is typically performed with a coronary CTA to provide more valuable information but can also be obtained on its own as well. This study is performed on a CT scanner and no contrast is requires.

Liver Fat Quantification MRI

Fat deposition is a common condition of the liver and is the hallmark of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease but may also occur with alcohol abuse, viral hepatitis, and other diseases. This study is used to quantify intracellular fat (hepatic steatosis). Elevated liver fat is a marker of and can contribute to mortality and morbidity. Fortunately, steatosis can be reversible with intervention. This study can take up to 30 minutes and no contrast is required.

This study is most often performed in conjuction with a Whole Body MRI Scan.
